European Championship Supported Ultra Solo 2025
In 2025, the European Championships for the ultra-distance category will be held as part of the Race Around Lower Austria (RAN). After last year’s title races in Italy, this year’s event for the Supported Solo category will take place in Austria. The championship will kick off with a grand opening ceremony on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the start and finish town of Weitra.
For the European Championship, participants must complete a route of at least 750 km. Before riding the classic 600 km RAN course with over 6,000 meters of challenging elevation gain, participants will complete a 150 km loop (with 1,700 meters of elevation gain) in the Waldviertel region. This setup offers a special experience for spectators, as all participants will pass through the lively atmosphere of Weitra once more after the initial 150 km.

START AND FINISH TOWN
The medieval town of Weitra has proven to be the perfect start and finish location. As Austria’s oldest brewing town, nestled amid the gentle hills and green forests of the Upper Waldviertel, it provides an ideal setting for such a race. In recent years, the Kuenringer town has built a reputation as a cultural hub and a destination for connoisseurs. During the Race Around Lower Austria, however, its town square transforms into the center of endurance cycling.
